The 270  Awning sets new benchmarks  for a free standing shade awning in terms of overall strength, wind resistance and durability.  The awning 2.3mX0.5mX1.4m, weighs only 15Kg and can be easily fixed to a roof rack or to our Clamshell Roof Top Tents .  The 270 Awning provides an incredible amount of shade around your 4WD for you to set up your camp kitchen, swags or just a shaded seating/chill out area.

The 270 awning provides you with a strong shade area, in which you can arrange a camping kitchen, or a seating/rest area in the middle. The awning jacket is made of 420D oxford rip -stop, with a thick pvc coating inside, which is resistant to water pressure of 3000, anti-ultraviolet, wear-resistant, anti-aging, and flame-retardant.

The awning fabric is made of 420D oxford rip -stop with SBS waterproof zipper. Water pressure resistance 3000, UV protection, wear resistance, anti-aging, flame retardant. The inside of the sunshade can be about 4-5°C lower than the outside under direct sunlight.

The structure of the awning is made from an extruded alloy composite which has been specifically designed to provide the elasticity, strength and durability we required.  The main bracket for the hinge is constructed from 316 marine grade stainless steel providing huge strength.  The arms on the awning have been gusseted for additional strength, which enables the awning to be fully standing without any poles in even the very strong wind conditions.  We do not supply poles for the awning as it does not need them, but we do supply guy ropes and pegs for use in extreme wind conditions to prevent damage to your roof rack or vehicle.  The guy ropes attach to the stainless steel D-rings that are incorporated into the ends of the arms and also midway along each canvas section.  In conjunction with the natural rake of the awning, the guy ropes should be used to prevent pooling of water on the canvas and to guide water runoff in preferred places. We do not recommend leaving the awning up unattended during snowfall due to risk of canvas stretching as a result of excessive weight.
