A: Rooftop tents are similar to normal tents in shape and function, but that’s where the similarities end. These online-famous temporary homes have recently surged in popularity, leading top outdoor brands such as Arcadia to begin expanding their offerings into the roof-tent arena. The tents attach to the top of a car and come in two main styles: soft and hard shell. Soft-top tents generally open out to the side, while hard shells pop up like the top of an old VW camper.
